Fraud Response Service

If you have been contacted by persons claiming to be your Internet provider, Microsoft or a Financial Institution (even the ATO!), you may have been a victim of an active fraud.

If this is the case, please note the following:

  • Perpetrators of Fraud can appear to be convincing and professional, and may call offering a refund or reward.

  • Perpetrators of Fraud will be insistent with their demands to access your computer, often under a ruse of checking your modem.

  • Perpetrators of Fraud will create a false imperative to follow their demands.

  • Perpetrators of Fraud will often spend time pretending to "clean" your computer of threats, and attempt to gain your confidence.

If you are being contacted by a suspected Fraudster: immediately hang up your phone

  • If you have provided remote access to your computer, or are unsure if you have - turn off your modem to prevent further access.

  • Call your bank or financial institution immediately to ensure there have been no suspicious transactions

  • Refuse to speak with the Fraudsters if they call back and threaten you for not complying with their demands. No legitimate company will behave in this manner.

  • If you have been urged to purchase gift cards to remit funds or pay via banking transfer or Western Union or other payment service - DO NOT PAY!

  • Contact Simon via your mobile to arrange a Security Checkup - the Fraudsters may have left hidden software on your computer that can compromise your privacy and security.

Service Fee: $110 per hour (duration dependent upon your individual needs)
